Mtre Alexandre Hénaut

Immigration strategy · European desk · International mobility

Within the WMR team, Alexandre Hénaut is the firm’s relationship-builder. His driving focus? Promoting the firm’s presence in Europe, and more specifically in France, while cultivating solid and lasting international connections.

On a daily basis, he ensures international coordination and enthusiastically develops a global network of Francophone correspondents, notably across Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. This relationship-driven approach allows the firm to support clients in cross-border matters while remaining firmly grounded in local realities.

A member of the Quebec Bar, Alexandre facilitates European immigration to Canada, and more specifically to Quebec, with a friendly yet firm approach. He assists clients in structuring and advancing their immigration projects, while closely monitoring ongoing changes in immigration policies and practices.

A key part of his practice involves advising European clients—particularly from France—who are discovering the legal, administrative, and cultural framework of Quebec and Canada. Drawing on his professional journey between France and Quebec, Alexandre is especially attentive to differences in institutional reflexes, expectations, and approaches to authority that may complicate immigration or business projects. He therefore acts as a genuine legal and cultural translator, helping clients understand how public authorities operate in practice, the system’s implicit requirements, and local professional standards, in order to secure their applications and foster sustainable integration.

For Alexandre, a good lawyer must be attentive, responsive, and rigorous.

Before settling in Quebec, Alexandre practised litigation for nearly ten years as a lawyer admitted to the Paris Bar. Since relocating to Canada, he has shifted his practice toward advisory work, bringing with him strong litigation experience and a strategic view of complex files.

Alexandre proudly claims his Northern French roots. The self-described “Ch’ti lawyer” readily presents himself as a cultural bridge between immigrants and their host country, combining pedagogy, clarity, and a touch of humour.

A former competitive golfer, he continues to follow the PGA Tour with passion and enjoys playing badminton with his daughters.

His motto?

Winning or losing doesn't matter… except when you lose! / Everything in its time—but without losing any.
